Tsintzina (also called Polydroso) is spread over three hills at about 1,100 metres on Mount Parnon, among old fir forests and no fewer than nine springs. Stone houses and Byzantine churches – Agios Ioannis, 'Psito' and Agia Marina – give it a strong traditional character.
It is a favourite with active travellers: nine marked trails leave from the square, most ending at a spring or a chapel, and two mountain-bike routes run along forest roads. The rock of Agia Marina has four sport-climbing routes, and keen hikers can climb Megali Tourla, the summit of Parnon at 1,942 metres. The Monastery of Agioi Anargyroi is close by.
