Nikiforos Vrettakos, the 'poet of Taygetos', was one of the great Greek poets of the 20th century. Since 2000 his archive has been kept on the first floor of Sparta's Central Public Library.
You can see his desk and furniture, personal belongings, letters, photographs and awards, and his personal library of 4,500 books. Open Monday to Friday, 08:00–14:30.
