This small museum displays two beautiful Roman mosaic floors from the late 3rd – early 4th century AD, both made in local Spartan workshops. One shows the abduction of Europa – discovered in 1872 and the model for the image on Greece's 2-euro coin. The other, found in 1897, shows Orpheus charming the animals with his music.
It is a short, free visit in the centre of town. Open Monday and Wednesday to Sunday, 08:30–15:30.
