'Greek' Bridge of Rasina

Xirokampi

Near Xirokampi, an ancient single-arched stone bridge still crosses the Rasina stream. Locals call it 'Kamara' (the arch) or the 'Greek' bridge. It carried the road from Sparta to its port at Kardamyli, which the Romans granted to Sparta.

It is said to be the oldest bridge in Europe still in use. Visit it together with a walk in the Anakolos gorge or a summer performance at the nearby stone theatre.
