The small museum of Mystras, founded in 1952, is in a two-storey building in the courtyard of the cathedral of Agios Dimitrios. It shows Byzantine sculpture, jewellery, pottery, coins, fragments of wall paintings, icons and fabrics.
Look for the dress and hair braid from the grave of a Byzantine princess, a marble plaque with the Ascension of Alexander the Great, and carved parts of church screens bearing the monograms of the Kantakouzenos family. Entry is included in the Mystras ticket.
